If the social site requires a biography make sure your info is appropriate. Write something that that would impress an employer
Post content to your social networking site that pertains to your professional interest
Keep a polite tone to your social sites
Speak professionally

Have a negative attitude
Unprofessional body language (i.e. yawning without covering your mouth, chewing gum)
Excessive fragrance
Come into work late
Post pictures of the frat party you went to last night to your social sites
Complain about your job on your social sites
Social networking can be a positive experence if you follow the do’s listed above. It can be a negative experence and ruin your chances of landing the job you want if your social sites are unprofessional. Social networking sites have some very strict privacy settings and you can either let the world see your profile or let no one see. You are in control. If you want to use your social networking site as a way to connect to other professionals than you can keep it public and post your professional images. However, if you want to keep it for your social life only than make sure all your settings are set so only your friends can see your profile.

How To Develop Your Online Identity
It’s 2010 and it appears as though most companies and people have “gotten with the times.” It seems as though everything is done over the internet anymore. No more snail mail there is now email, no more calling your friends to see what they are up to for the weekend you just check out their latest status update on Facebook, no more developing film instead pictures of you are being posted on the internet. Because of all of the above building a positive online reputation is more important now than it ever has been.
When some people (not me) Google their name some pretty bad stuff can show up. If it is in fact you, you need to see what you can do about getting those bad images or writings about you off the internet. It may entail contacting the sight owner. Some may have to go to the extreme of getting a lawyer involved if it is slander in nature.
If some of the Google findings aren’t you then you need to create a strong brand to associate with your name so whoever searches you in Google knows the difference between you and everyone else that shares your name.
Every person I know has a Facebook, Myspace and/or a Twitter account. Make sure that any and all of your social networking sites like these reflect the level of security you need. You don’t want those frat party pictures popping up on the recruiters monitor.
According to www.thepersonalbrandingblog.com a study was done by Execunet, 87% of recruiters and hiring manager DO Google potential candidates and 45% of them will eliminate candidates based on their findings. Don’t be that 45%.

5 Common Interview Questions
Why should I hire you?
The answer I gave to this question during a mock interview was “Because there are the “can do” candidates and the “will do” candidates. The can dos have the knowledge, skills, and abilities to get the job done. But the will dos also have the personality, morals, and values to do this job. I believe I am a will do candidate.” Her jaw fell on the table and she stopped the interview. So I think I will stick with this answer.
What is your weakness?
For this question I always try to turn a positive into a negative.
What major problems have you encountered and how did you deal with it?
This is another question that has a negative tone to it. If you your problem was negative just put a positive spin on it and say what you learned from the experience.
“Give me an example of a time when….” questions are always difficult for me. Preparation and practice is going to be key in answering these situational type questions.

Are you a "Highly Effective" person?
I would first like to state that I think Stephen Covey is a genius and his book stays on my coffee table. Now with that said….
I truly believe in being proactive and taking responsibility of your life. I don’t let the wheatear affect my mood for the day. Just because it’s gloomy outside doesn’t mean I need to be gloomy inside. Like Steven’s book sates, your life is designed for you, you can choose happiness, you choose sadness, decisiveness and ambivalence… I choose to not like 5 inches of snow on the ground affect my mood. When one door closes I look for the open window. It’s a bit of a morbid thing to think about but sometimes I think of my funeral and what people will say about me. I strive everyday to make my parents proud and to make a good name for myself because when I do die I want people that know me to be proud to say they know me. I want an entire list of accomplishments in life.
Steven talks about weather your goals are by default (passed down by friends or family) or if they are personal. I will never let what someone else wants for me to get in the way of what I truly want out of life. I will listen to what my friends and family have to say about what they want for me but I will never let that be my deciding factor.
I feel patient about habit 4. It’s the win/win, public victory. This habit talks of human interaction. There are six examples: (1) Win/Win (2) Win/Lose (3) Lose/Win (4) Lose/Lose (5) Win or Win/Win or no deal. All of these are pretty self explanatory. For example Win/Win is a mutual benefit, all parties feel good about the agreement or solutions. Win/Lose is an authoritarian approach: “I get my way, you don’t get yours.” I really try to enter into every situation with wanting it to be a Win/Win or no deal situation. It is described as, if we can’t find a solution that benefits us both then we have no deal. I want to win, and I want you to win.

Introduction
Rochelle is California born and Michigan raised. A full-time student at Davenport University. She received her ABA in Marketing in the fall of ’09 and has a few classes left to finish her BBA in Human Recourses Management. Her expected gradation date is December 2010. Working her way through college as a full-time recordkeeper at the financial firm PensionTrend, located in Okemos Michigan. She is also the Vice President of her parent’s company, Speedy G Bail Bonds. Puts her Marketing degree to work by being the creative mind behind the company’s marketing plan. Currently she is aiding in opening 3 new locations of Speedy G Bail Bonds in Alabama, North Carolina, and Georgia.
